FAQs Common questions
What is the difference between CBD and THC?
THC and CBD are both cannabinoids that come from the cannabis plant, but they differ in benefit, properties, and how they make you feel. THC is the psychoactive part of the plant, which brings you that “high” feeling that is often associated with cannabis. CBD is the non-psychoactive component of the plant and will not intoxicate you or ever give you that ‘high’ feeling. CBD is actually proven to block some intoxicating effects of THC, and when used on its own, can provide mental clarity, stress regulation and overall balance. Our products are THC-free to make sure you feel safe and comfortable enjoying them, but still get all of the benefits.
What should I look for when purchasing CBD products?
We know that the CBD world is a bit foggy, we want to help clarify that for you. This is what you should be looking for when purchasing safe CBD products.
- It should be sold through your province’s legal cannabis retail channel. In Canada, that is the only access to legal cannabis products that have gone through the appropriate measures to create safe products. In Ontario, that is the Ontario Cannabis Store.
- It should be third-party tested to ensure safe and quality product.
- Treat your topical cannabis products the same way you treat your skincare products. Look at the ingredients and make sure they are safe for you, and bring you benefit.
- Packaging is a great indicator to filter legal cannabis products. For a cannabis product to be legal, it has to have a red THC stop sign on the package, and a yellow warning label. All of our packaging at the point of sale has this style packaging, so we can remain responsible for our consumers.
What does it mean to be third party tested?
Third party testing refers to analysis conducted by laboratories with no connection to the testee. This ensures no conflict of interest, and unbiased, valid results for clean, stable, and quality products. This is important to us to make sure our products are safe and responsibly manufactured for you!
What’s the difference between hemp seed oil and Cannabidiol (CBD)?
Hemp seed oil and Cannabidiol (CBD) are both ingredients that can be derived from the hemp plant. So we can understand the confusion. The seed is what’s used in hemp seed oil, which is the only part of the plant without CBD. Hemp seed oil is not regulated under the same conditions as CBD because it is not the same ingredient or benefit, it just comes from the same plant. CBD comes from the whole plant, excluding the seeds, and gives you many more additional benefits. Be mindful of tricky marketing. A cannabis plant on packaging does NOT mean there is any CBD in it, it could just be hemp seed oil. You will get the benefits of hemp seed oil, but not the amazing benefits of CBD in your product.
